BE STRONG

The one thing that will make you strong is faith. Paul said in the book of Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might,” sounds to me that God is commanding us to “be” strong.

Now, how do we know that faith is what makes us strong? Well, because the Word of God says so. This is easier said than done, because as you know, you do not “be strong” by just lying around and becoming a couch potato.  You have to activate your faith for it to make you strong.

Have you ever thought about getting physically in shape? How is that working out for you? We all know that just having the thought of working out our bodies will never receive the goals we desire physically; you must make the decision to ACT on that thought for it to have any impact on your body.

Faith is no different; you must make the decision to live by faith in spite of the circumstances. When we choose to live by faith; that is when we become strong.

God told Joshua to be strong and of good courage. (Joshua 1:6) Well, you cannot be strong without faith.

Jesus told us in Mark 11:22 to have faith in God or have the God kind of faith. He said for us to have faith, which is a command. Also, notice what is not said, that we could have faith in something or someone else, or have another kind of faith.

God has equipped us to live by faith. Every person that is born again has in them an innate nature to live by faith and to live by the God kind of faith. Yet, many do not operate in this faith because they are not hearing the Word of God. For the Believer to operate by what is already born in them, which is faith, they must hear the Word of God on a continuous basis. Romans 10:17 says “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” The implication of what Paul is instructing us to do is to hear the Word of God by hearing the Word over and over again.

The Word of God is what causes faith to come. The more you hear the Word, the stronger your faith will become and the stronger you will become.

I do not mean to say that you will get more faith, but because you are a Believer, you already have the faith of God living in you. You will not obtain any more faith than what you already have. I like what my Pastortaught me, Apostle Frederick K C Price, “faith is like your muscles, you cannot get any more muscles than what your body already has, all you have to do is develop them”, now, I have paraphrased his statement, somewhat, but the principle is still the same.

You have all the faith that you need in order to do what God has purposed you to do in this earth realm; you will not get any more. But, you can develop that muscle of faith the same way you would develop your physical muscles, by exercising it.

Faith must be exercised for it to impact your life. This comes by making a decision to live by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

Everything that we read in the Bible regarding faith has to do with you doing something. If we exercise our faith we will BE STRONG!
